Cadd9 G D Em7
You were in college working part time waiting tables
Cadd9 G D
Left a small town never looked back
Cadd9 G D Em7
I was the flight risk with the fear of fallin
Cadd9 G D
Wondered why we bothered with love if it never lasts

Cadd9 G D
I say “Can you believe it?”
Cadd9 G D
As we’re lying on a couch
Cadd9 G D
The moment I can see it
Cadd9 G D
Yes yes, I can see it now

Cadd9 G
Do you remember we were sitting there about the water?
D Em7 D
You put your arm around me for the first time
Cadd9 G
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
D Em7 D
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine

Cadd9 G D Em7
Flash forward and we’re taking on the world together
Cadd9 G D
And there is a drawer of my things at your place
Cadd9 G D Em7
You learned my secrets and you figured out why I’m bothered
Cadd9 G D
You said we’d never make my parents’ mistakes.

Cadd9 G D
But we’ve got bills to pay
Cadd9 G D
We’ve got nothing figured out
Cadd9 G D
When it was hard to take yes yes
Cadd9 G D
This is was I thought about

Cadd9 G
Do you remember we were sitting there about the water?
D Em7 D
You put your arm around me for the first time
Cadd9 G
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
D Em7 D
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine

Em Cadd9
And I remember that fight 2:30 AM
D
Cause everything was slipping right out of my hands
Em Cadd9 D
And I ran out crying and you followed me out into the street
Cadd9 G D
Raised myself for a goodbye
Cadd9 G D
Cause that’s all I’ve ever known
Cadd9 G D
And you took me by surprise
Cadd9 G D Cadd9
You said ‘I’ll never leave you alone’

You said

“I remember how we felt sitting about the water

I fell in love with careless mans careful daughter

  5. guitar.13 says:

PLEASE I NEED THE STRUMMING PATTERN!! D:

  6. D=down
    U=up

    D D U(verse&bridge)
    D D U U D U U D U U D U (chorus)

  7. i like your chords…

  8. what’s the strumming pattern!!!

  9. awesome , i like it

  10. just strum the way you feel it should be.

  11. just strum the way you feel it should be.

  12. intro and verses require palm-muting then switching to open-strumming at the last note, but aside from that, all the strums go down. before the chorus, it goes C9 palm-muted Down then G open Up-Up, dead-strings D (mostly this happens unconsciously but still sounds good. you do this just by strumming even if you haven’t placed your fingers correctly for the next chord or strumming while your fingers are lightly touching the strings thus making a hushed sound) , change to next chord which is D, open Down-Up-Up-Down-Up-Up.

chorus goes C9 Down-Down-Up-Up-Down then a really light UP just before you change to the next chord, where you do it again. repeat until D. the Em7 is 4 Downs, but you let go of the strings lightly after every strum to make that sudden halt.

I don’t get why people need strum patterns, it’s pretty easy to figure them out. just try imitating the song while playing.

  13. can you teach the plucking part in the intro pls?

  14. Erika Mae Claudio says:
